Obituary for Ruth Flanagan (Snyder)

Ruth Flanagan, 103, of Bridgeport, passed away on Monday morning, January 1, 2018 at her son’s residence in Hepzibah. She was born on August 3, 1914 in Richwood a daughter of the late George Snyder and Cora Loar Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Charles “Pat” Flanagan, who passed away on September 13, 1993.
She is survived by three children, Bud Flanagan of Clarksburg, Mike “Rodney” Flanagan of Hepzibah and Saundra Rux Flanagan of Bridgeport; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Faye Flanagan; one grandson, Kevin Rux; six brothers, John, Carl, Charley, Leroy, Raymond and Glenn Snyder; two sisters, Meeda “Pete” Gorby and Louise Richards.
Ruth was a member of the Church of the Nazarene as well as the Navy Mothers Club #491. She was also a volunteer with the Foster Grandparents Program for WV. She enjoyed quilting, Crocheting and reading.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Thursday, January 5, 2018 from 4-8 pm. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Church of the Nazarene, 1300 Cost Avenue, Stonewood with Reverend Richard Settles presiding. Interment will be in the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown at 2:00 pm.
