Obituary for Jennie L. Harris (Vincent)
Jennie Lee Harris, 78, of Clarksburg, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 22, 2018, at her residence. She was born in Green Valley on September 13, 1940, a daughter of the late Willard D. and Lucille (Cain) Vincent.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Robert E. Harris, whom she married November 24, 1962.
Also surviving are two sons, Michael C. Harris and his wife Cyndi, Fuquay Varina, NC; and David Harris and his wife Heather, Green Cove Springs, FL; four grandchildren, Emily, Lauren, Jordan, and Austin. Three brothers, Harold “Buzzy” Vincent and his wife Twyla, Clarksburg; Harley “Sonny” Vincent and his wife Margaret, Mt. Clare; Richard “Peach” Vincent and his wife Ginger, Bridgeport; three sisters, Janet Parks, Philippi; Alice Haney and her husband Tim, Rosemont; and Myrna Vecchio and her husband Bill, Martinsburg; and several nieces and nephews complete her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jones.
Jennie was Methodist. She loved to square dance, make crafts, cook and bake. She was a past president of various clubs and was very active in projects in the churches she attended.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 4 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018, with Reverend Brian Plum presiding. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
