Back Send condolences to the Albertson Family
William H. Albertson, 88, of Bridgeport, passed away Sunday evening, March 14, 2010, in Salem. He was born May 17, 1921 in Mt. Jewett, PA, a son of the late Sidney and Catherine Fisher Albertson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Rieser Albertson.
Surviving are three sons, Shawn Albertson and his wife Clara, Bridgeport; James Albertson and his wife Susan, Washington, DC; and Dion Albertson and his wife Carrie, San Antonio, TX; a daughter, Erin Albertson, Bridgeport; seven grandchildren, Scott Albertson; Bryan Albertson and his wife Kara; Emily Shingleton and her husband George; Katie Curry and her fiancé Chris Mullen; Nick Curry; Maggie Curry and Nathan Albertson;a great-grandson, Isaiah Albertson; and a sister, Margaret Jurick, Norfolk, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Albertson; and three sisters, Mary White, Catherine Sekula, and Zouella Bess.
William was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, and then attended trade school. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army and then the Army Air Corps. He retired in 1983 after 36 ˝ years of service with C & P Telephone. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Stonewood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Stonewood, with Father John Ledford as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
