Obituary for Anthony "Tony" Smith

Anthony “Tony” Smith, 64, of Rosemont, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born November 15, 1949 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Frank Smith and Mary Seboria Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Brenda Brown Smith, whom he married on October 3, 1970.
He is also survived by his daughter Kimberly Olivio and her husband Sam of Bridgeport, two grandchildren, Christian and Samantha Olivio; two brothers, Jim Smith and his wife Barbara of Flemington, and Stanley Smith and his wife Eileen of Piscataway, NJ; two sisters, Margaret Betz of Wauwatosa, WI and Betty Smith of Elizabeth, NJ.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank Smith, Albert Smith, William Smith and Delano Smith; four sisters, Julia Bebert, Rose Mary Rogucki, Pauline Krainski, and Darlean Stewart.
Mr. Smith was a graduate of Flemington High School and then served in the United States Army from 1970-1973. He was a self-employed carpenter for 35 years with his company, Tony’s Home Improvement. Tony was also a member of All Saints Catholic Church and served as a Trustee for the Flemington IOOF Cemetery. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing and also spending time in Canaan Valley. He also especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 2-8 pm, with the Vigil Service to be held at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 10:00 am with Father Benedict Kapa as Celebrant. Interment will be in Flemington IOOF Cemetery.
