Obituary for Ronnie Glenn Simons

Ronnie Glenn Simons, 75, of Brushy Fork Road, Bridgeport passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at his residence. He was born March 20, 1939 in Bridgeport, a son of the late Russell Glenn Simons and Agnes Louise Newlon Simons
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wilma Lee Edwards Simons.
He is also survived by one son, Ronnie Glenn “Pete” Simons, Jr. of Bridgeport and one daughter, Ronja Lee Coffman and her husband Fred of Bridgeport; four grandchildren, Aaron Linch and his wife Sam of Stonewood, Isaiah Linch of Stealey, Amanda Linn Simons of Wallace and Andrea Leigh Simons of Fairmont; six great grandchildren, Cheyenne “Bodey” Linch and her mother Michelle Ramsey, Colton Linch, Ayden Linch, Hunter Linch, Gavin Linch and Landon Simons; one sister, Carol Weissmann of NY; sisters-in-law, Nellie Crislip of Bridgeport, Emma Jean Shoulders of Galloway; and his cousin Jimmy Craig Simons of Bridgeport
He was preceded in death by one brother, James Simons.
Mr. Simons was a truck driver for Jones Trucking and for several companies before he retired from Global Coal in 2000. He enjoyed hunting and being outside “piddling and tinkering” around. He attended the Gospel Barn and he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren, and he was their “ Papaw Bodey.”
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at the Trinity Cemetery, Brushy Fork with Reverend Jim Davis presiding.
