Obituary for Violet Marie Boice
Violet Marie Boice, 69, of Bridgeport, WV, passed away October 21, 2014, at Mon General Hospital, Morgantown, following an extended illness. She is now in the presence of The Lord.
She graduated from Sissonville High School in 1963 and was retired from the Harrison County School Board with 30 years of service.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents, Dennie and Maxine Boice, infant sister, Patricia Ann Boice, and son-in-law, Dr. Thomas Basil Mathew.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Keith) Athey of Bridgeport, WV, Shelly (Pete) Jarvis of Salem, WV, and Tracey Mathew of Mooresville, NC; and nine beautiful grandchildren: Dirk Athey, Morgan Athey, Wesley Jarvis, Casey Jarvis, Danielle Mathew, Hannah Mathew, Emily Mathew, Olivia Mathew, and Elijah Mathew.
She is also survived by brothers, Kermit (Dollie) Boice of Sissonville, WV, and Gary (Beverly) Boice of Kearneysville, WV; and sister, Janet (Tom) Miller of Fort Worth, TX.
Violet very much loved the Lord and people, especially children. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, crocheting and sewing. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A private graveside service will be held for the family in Sissonville. Her final resting place is Mangus Cemetery, near Sissonville, WV.
