Obituary for Pauline Kennedy Kenney (Tate)

Pauline E. Kennedy Kenney, 86, of Adamston, passed away Monday morning, December 8, 2014, in Genesis Salem Center. She was born February 20, 1928, in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late George B. and Meryl V. (Blaney) Tate.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul K. Kennedy in 1973; and Robert E. Kenney in 2000.
She is survived by three children, Linda L. Hill and her husband Richard, Mt. Clare; John Wayne Kennedy, Clarksburg; and Fleta D. Swiger and her husband William, North View; three grandsons, Greg Hill, Mt. Clare; Matthew Swiger and his wife Shannon, Clarksburg; and Justin P. Swiger, Clarksburg; a sister, Martha Willard of Tehachapi, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joffre P. Kennedy; a grandson, Richie Hill; a brother, Eugene “Bud” Tate, and two sisters, Geraldine “Geri” Shaughnessy and Mary E. Hamrick.
Pauline loved her church, Calvary United Methodist Church. She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing, reading and crocheting. Most of all, she loved the time she spent raising her family.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 2 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014, with Reverend Etheldean Yanero presiding. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
