Obituary for Sarah A. Stirewalt (Ruckman)

Sarah Stirewalt, 77, of Willow Beach, passed away Saturday morning, December 13, 2014, in Heartland of Clarksburg. She was born in Clarksburg on September 9, 1937, a daughter of the late Paul Douglas and Mary Rose Notch Ruckman.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Max R. Stirewalt.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cindy Holbert and her husband Art, Twinsburg, OH; and Mary Carpenter, Clarksburg; and a son, Jody Stirewalt, Asheville, NC; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Holbert and his wife Christine, Philadelphia, PA; Laura, Julie, Luke and Kate Stirewalt, Arden, NC; Adam Stafford and his wife Taylor, Stonewood; Ronnie Carpenter, Willow Beach; and a great-grandson, Grayson Stafford. Three sisters, Pauline Jett, Lost Creek; Judith Pennell of Florida; and Betty King, Berea, OH; and several nieces and nephews complete her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Stirewalt; a granddaughter, Moriah Holbert; and two brothers, John and Kenneth Ruckman.
Sarah was a graduate of R-W High School, Class of 1955. She was a member of Bible Baptist Temple, Stonewood, and she loved working in her yard and flower beds.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to Bible Baptist Temple, Benevolent Fund, 1450 Cost Avenue, Stonewood, WV 26301

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014, with Pastor Charles Madaus presiding. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
