Obituary for Connie L. Wease

Connie L. Wease, 54, of Alexandria, VA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 5, 2015, in the United Hospital Center. She was born in Clarksburg on July 14, 1960, a daughter of the late William E. and Eva L. (Cropp) Wease.
She is survived by her sister, Donna Heldreth and her friend Skip Ball, Clarksburg; and her niece, Holly Heldreth, Camp Hill, PA.
Connie was a graduate of W-I High School, Class of 1978. She then started working for C & P Telephone as an operator in Clarksburg before moving to Virginia and retiring as a supervisor for Verizon after 29 years of service. She had been a member of Order of the Eastern Star, the Rainbow Girls, and especially loved her cat “Sarge.”
She was a very active member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene, Annandale, VA, where she served as a staff member, as an assistant to the Pastor, and was involved with the Women’s Council, the Leadership Board, and the Children’s Ministry. She also had served as the Regional Director of the NE Region for Singles Retreat.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Calvary Church of the Nazarene, 8220 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA 22003.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015, where services will be held at 3 p.m. with Pastor James Heyward presiding. Interment will be held in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
