Obituary for Dr. William "Bill" G. Pringle III

Dr. William “Bill” G. Pringle, III, 80, of Bridgeport, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015, at his residence. He was born March 16, 1934, in Summit Point, WV, a son of the late Charles Walter Pringle and Nancy Porter Pringle Rutherford.
He is survived by four children, Sydney Susan Pringle, New York City; William G. Pringle, IV, and his wife Karen, Leesburg, VA; John Porter Pringle, Morgantown; and Charles Adam Pringle, Brooklyn, NY; and two grandchildren, William G. Pringle, V; and Paisley Morgan Pringle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles “Buddy” Pringle.
Bill was a graduate of Charles Town High School, Class of 1952, and he graduated from Shepherd College with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He then attended WVU Dental School and graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry for Orthodontics. He practiced in North Central WV with five satellite offices from 1967 – 1992. He was a member of several professional dental societies, including the American Dental Association.
He was a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps, serving in Korea from 1953 – 1956.
After retiring, he was a skiing instructor for 20 years in Breckenridge, CO, and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a longtime member of the Bridgeport Country Club and was a staunch conservationist. He also started the Pringle Family Scholarship for Science at Shepherd University.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Audubon Society.
Friends are invited to the Bridgeport Country Club on Sunday, January 11, 2015, from 1 – 3 p.m., to share memories with the Pringle Family.
