Obituary for Frank Hardman Smith

Frank Hardman Smith, 77, of Bridgeport, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Louis A. Johnson Veteran’s Hospital. He was born June 11, 1937 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Frank Silcott Smith and Mary Virginia Hardman Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marcelline “Marcie” Zannino Smith, whom he married in 1960.
He is also survived by his three children, Carol Ann Stiles and Jeff of Bridgeport, Stephanie Smith of Bridgeport and Scott D. Smith of Mount Clare; on grandson, Matthew R. Cobb of Delaware; three great grandchildren, Halle, Peyton and Paisley Cobb; one daughter-in-law Margaret Smith; and one brother, Patrick J. Feeney and his wife Mary Alice of TX; his niece Sarah and his nephew Arthur.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his son, Frank J. Smith and his granddaughter, Sarah Smith.
He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, where he met his wife, and also attended Wheeling Jesuit University. He was also self-employed and worked in the construction industry. He enjoyed work and also the people that he worked with and the people he worked for. He took pride in his community and was always willing to help someone out who was in need. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and he loved hunting and going to his cabin.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 6-8 pm and again on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Vigil Service will also be held on Friday at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Casey Mahone as Celebrant and Father Jude Anyaeche as Co Celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
