Obituary for David Masto

David Masto, 78, of Bridgeport, went home to be with his Saviour Jesus Christ on Monday afternoon, March 30, 2015, in Ruby Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Dawmont on February 13, 1937, a son of the late George and Anna Biasi Mesto.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Hall Masto, whom he married January 6, 1973.
Also surviving are a daughter, Marianne Kallmyer and her husband Jon, Boynton Beach, FL; three sons, James Mayo and his wife Susan, Manassas, VA; David John Masto and his wife Debra, Bridgeport; and Tony Glenn Masto and his fiancée Levy Miller, Clarksburg; seven grandchildren, Roger Lee Buckhannon; Katie, Sarah, and Christopher Mayo; Sergio Dominic Masto; Karen Sekora; and Shari Edelson. A sister, Mary Marsh, Bridgeport; a brother, George Mesto and his wife Laney, Bridgeport; a brother-in-law David Jones, Clarksburg; a sister-in-law, Donna Masto, Florida; and several nieces and nephews complete his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Viola Masto; a sister, Dorothy Masto Jones, and three brothers, Mike, John, and Frank.
Dave was a graduate of Victory High School, Class of 1956, and then he went on to serve in the US Coast Guard from 1956 – 1959. He retired from Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in 1996 after 30 years of service in the Engineering Department.
In his early years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. He was a season ticket holder to WVU basketball and football games. He was the Treasurer of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and attended the Bridgeport Seniors. He loved to travel and attended Word of Life Assembly of God.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2015, with his son Reverend David John Masto and his brother Reverend George Mesto presiding. Interment will follow in WV National Cemetery, where Military Funeral Honors will be provided.
