Obituary for Wilma L. Stout (Jenkins)

Wilma L. Stout, 83, of Fairmont and formerly of Bridgeport, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015, in the United Hospital Center. She was born in Rosemont on May 21, 1931, a daughter of the late Herbert and Hazel Jenkins.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Harry W. Stout.
Also surviving are her sons, Rev. Gail W. Carson and his wife Elizabeth, Hundred; Nathan Carson, New Philadelphia, OH; Timothy Carson, Way Mart, PA; Kendall Stout and his wife Susie, Falling Waters, WV; Allen Stout and his wife Donna, St. George; and her daughter, Melody Burch and her husband Robert, Buckhannon. Eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Jenkins, Core; a sister, Shirley Cimino and her husband David, Fairmont; a sister-in-law Margaret Jenkins, Stonewood; her brothers-in-law, Richard Stout, Fairmont and Frank Lucente, Sterling Heights, MI; and many nieces and nephews complete her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Sandy, Judy Ware, and Geraldine Godfrey; her brothers, Herbert Jenkins, Jr., William Jenkins and Paul Jenkins; and sisters-in-law, Alice Stout and Betty Stout.
Wilma was an active member of North View United Methodist Church and the Administrative Board, a member and former President of the North View United Methodist Women and a member of the choir. She was also a member of the District United Methodist Women. She was active in the Chestnut Hills School PTA and served as President, and was also active in the Harrison County PTA and WV State PTA, where she is a life-time member. She was President of W-I Football Mothers and was a Cub Scout Den Mother.
In lieu of flowers, Wilma asked that contributions be made to the Food Pantry of North View United Methodist Church, 1924 Goff Avenue, Clarksburg, WV; or Health Access, 489 Washington Avenue, Clarksburg, WV 26301

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Friday from 1 – 8 p.m., where services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday with Reverend Adam R. Justice presiding. Interment will follow in Coplin Cemetery.
