Obituary for Jacqueline "Jackie" Dennison

Jacqueline “Jackie” Dennison, 57, of Springfield, VA, passed away Sunday morning, July 12, 2015, at her home in Wolf Summit following a brief illness. She was born in Clarksburg on July 27, 1957, a daughter of Willard Jack and Helen Maxine (Bailey) Dennison, who survive in Wolf Summit.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Brian Dennison and his wife Gloria, Wolf Summit; her sister, Laurie Meyer, Springfield, VA; a sister-in-law, Darlene Johnson Dennison, Cherry Camp Road, Salem; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Randall F. Dennison; her paternal grandparents, JW “Pete” and Virginia Dennison; and her maternal grandparents, Harold and Forrest (Lacy) Bailey.

Jackie was a graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1975; Northern VA Community College, and the University of Maryland. She retired in October 2012 as the golf course superintendent for Prince William County, VA. She was a member of Golf Course Superintendents Association since 1992, and was also a member of Mid-Atlantic Golf Course Superintendents Association. She was Methodist.

Other than her work, she enjoyed fishing with her Dad, spending time in the mountains, and visiting the beach. She also loved her dog Barney.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 4-8pm Tuesday, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, with Reverend Dustin McCune presiding. Burial will follow in Marshville Baptist Church Cemetery.
