Obituary for Eugene Herbert Armstrong

Eugene H. Armstrong, 86, of Bridgeport, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 4, 2015 at his residence. He was born November 30, 1928, in Hagans, Monongalia County, a son of the late Morrow and Blanche (Bowman) Armstrong.

He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Ann Armstrong, who passed away on June 20, 2011.

He is survived by his son Richard Armstrong of Bridgeport.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kay Armstrong; two brothers, Arthur and Spellman Armstrong, and a sister, Pearl Yost.

Eugene was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. He retired from PPG Industries, was a self-employed farmer, and had also worked at Clarksburg Baptist Church. He attended Christian Assembly.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2015, with Reverend Robert Wilson presiding. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park where Military Funeral Honors will be accorded.
