Obituary for Margaret Nateline Cann (Gill)

Margaret Nateline Cann, 86, of Bridgeport, passed away in Bridgeport on Friday September 25, 2015. She was born on June 8, 1929 in Bridgeport a daughter of the late Charles Aaron Gill and Nellie Mae Carder Gill.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Joseph Cann who passed away on January 28, 1995.
She is survived by one son, James F. “Jimmy” Cann and his wife Bridget of Clarksburg and one daughter, Mary Kay Russell and her husband Harry of Bridgeport; ten grandchildren, Jessica Russell, Kristin Russell, Brian Cann, Anthony Cann, Justin Cann, Amber Johnson, Chasity Altman, Phillip Cann, Rebecca Bishop and Mary Elizabeth; thirteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Gill and Maynard Gill and several nieces, nephews and cousins complete her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her three sons, Larry Cann, Anthony Cann and Phillip Cann; and her nine brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Cann worked for Parson-Soulders before she was married and was also employed by Hazel Atlas for three years. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and Christian Mothers at St. John’s Catholic Church. She was also a Boy Scout mother and a football mother for her children. She loved to knit and read and she was a special friend to all who knew her when she resided at Bridgeport Manor.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 2-8 pm where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 10:00 am at All Saints Catholic Church, 317 E. Main Street, Bridgeport with Father Hilarion V. Cann as Celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Clarksburg
