Obituary for Troy Lynn "Buddy" Lantz

Troy L. “Buddy” “LeRoy” Lantz, 76, of Stonewood, passed away in Genesis Salem Center on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, surrounded by his family, friends and special nurses. He was born June 18, 1939, in Barbour County, a son of the late Ernest Lantz and Ruth Pearl Titchnell Lantz.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years years, Anna Marie McVicker Lantz, whom he married on February 19, 1966.
He is also survived by two daughters, Cheryl Jacobs and her husband Bruce; and Christa Hartzell and her husband David, all of Nutter Fort; 4 grandchildren, Justin Campbell and his wife , Brittany; Ashlyn Jacobs Baker and her husband Tim, Abriann Hartzell and Lilliann Hartzell; and two great-grandchildren, Paeton and Maggie Bailey. Three sisters, Mary Paugh, Fairmont; Genevieve America, Parkersburg; Geraldine Booth and her husband Roger, Philippi; three brothers, David Lantz and his wife Rhonda, Clarksburg; Daryl Lantz and his wife Cheryl, Jane Lew; and Charles “Chuck” Lantz, Mt. Clare; sisters-in-law, Etta Lantz, Fairmont; Dottie McVicker, Philippi; Nancy Booth, Lumberton, NC; a brother-in-law, Blaine Anglin, Philippi; many nieces and nephews, and his dog Angel complete his family.
He was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Patrick Campbell; brother, Ernest “Billy” Lantz, and an infant brother; a sister, Opal Anglin; brothers-in-law, Roscoe Paugh, William America, Charles McVicker, and Ray McVicker; and a sister-in-law, Nettie Ross.
Troy graduated from Philippi High School, Class of 1959. He was a sales representative at BD Bailey & Son, Osborn Machinery and Valley Supply, retiring in 2000. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and he loved to help people. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and loved to cook. He was active in his granddaughters’ RCB Volleyball activities and he also enjoyed WVU Sports.
The Lantz family would like to extend a special thank you to each and every employee of Genesis of Salem Center for all of the special care they have given to Troy and his entire family.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Tuesday from 2 - 8 p.m. where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Bryant Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in Stonewall Park Cemetery.
