Obituary for Donald Ray Drummond

Donald Ray Drummond, 79, of Summit Park, passed away Sunday evening, April 24, 2016, at his residence under the care of his family and Amedisys Hospice. He was born in Clarksburg on June 5, 1936, a son of the late Raymond A. and Bertie M. (Smith) Drummond.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Teresa (Circosta) Drummond.
Also surviving are his son, Lorenzo Drummond, Greensboro, NC; two daughters, Christina and Michelle; his sisters-in-law, Brenda Circosta, Summit Park; and Diana Somazze and her husband Jerry, North View; several nieces and nephews, and his Brother Knights.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Gillot, and Carol Ann Drummond, who died in infancy; and his brother, Dana Drummond.
Don worked at several Clarksburg theatres in the Clarksburg area, PJ Kellys, and as a janitor at the Harrison County Courthouse for several years, and he was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was a very active member of Knights of Columbus Clarksburg Council 872, and a Fourth Degree member of Our Lady of Peace Assembly 1184, Clarksburg. He loved attending the Knights of Columbus activities, and had not missed a Knights meeting in seven years. As a Fourth Degree member, he enjoyed being a member of the Honor Guard and also marching in the parades.
He and Teresa were active volunteers with the WV Italian Heritage Festival and enjoyed working the Festival booth selling programs. In 2007, they were honored by the festival as Volunteers of the Year.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their loving and tender care they provided and the Summit Park Fire Department for their assistance during Don’s illness.
