Charles "Kevin"  Jenkins
Charles “Kevin” Jenkins, 53, of East View, passed away on Monday morning, June 13, 2016, in the United Hospital Center. He was born in Cleveland, OH, on September 26, 1962, a son of Wilma K. “Katy” (McPherson) Jenkins, who survives in East View, and the late Charles W. Jenkins.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dawna Pratt Jenkins, whom he married on October 4, 1986.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is also survived by his daughter, Laura Elaine Jenkins and her significant other, Brandon Duane Hunter, New Martinsville; a grandson, Gideon Grey Hunter; and his brother, Ricky Jenkins, also of East View; his maternal grandmother, Madeline Gregg, Bristol, WV; his maternal uncle, Al McPherson, Fairview; his closest friend, Bobby and Peggy Johnson, Stonewood; and several other aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Gabriel Hunter, and his in-laws, James and Madelyn Pratt.
Kevin graduated from R-W High School, Class of 1981, and also from the United Technical Center where he studied small engine repair. He had worked with McPherson Line Works, and then worked as a timberer with Woodson Pallet for over 13 years.
While his daughter Laura was a student at RCB High School, he enjoyed helping with the band. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He also loved being involved with racing with the Paul Wilmoth Jr Race Crew, B1 Gambler.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Thursday from 2 – 8 p.m., where services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2016, with Pastor Sherman Goodwin presiding. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
