Obituary for Linda Sue Rutherford (Thompson)

Linda Sue Thompson Lipscomb Rutherford, 67, of Grafton passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 at her residence. She was born May 1, 1949 in Bridgeport a daughter of the late Theodore Thompson and Ercie Shahan Thompson McCloy.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, John Rutherford, whom she married on April 30, 1994.
She is also survived by three brothers, James Thompson and his wife Ruth Ellen of Rosemont, John Thompson and his wife Ronda of Rosemont, Barry Thompson of Mount Clare; two sisters, Saundra Bray and her husband Charles of Flemington, and her special sister and caregiver Martha Thompson of Grafton.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Donald Lipscomb; a brother Floyd A. Thompson; her sister, Carrie Bray and a special nephew Timothy Thompson.
Linda was a graduate of Bridgeport High School class of 1967 and she was employed by Bon Ton and Mountaineer Greenhouse. She enjoyed watching and taping movies, hook rugs and taking pictures. She especially loved to visit people and to have people around her.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Monday, July 25, 2016 from 2-8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at July 26, 2016 at 11:00 am with Reverend Jerry Lewis presiding. Interment will be in Flemington IOOF Cemetery, Flemington.
