Obituary for Wilma Jean Daugherty

Wilma Jean Dent Daugherty 86, of Bridgeport, passed away Sunday morning, July 24, 2016, in the United Hospital Center. She was born in New Martinsville on August 28, 1929, a daughter of the late Cornelius Dent and Cora Ann Adams Dent.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Friend F. Daugherty, who passed away on March 13, 2013
Also surviving are her two sons, Chuck Daugherty and his wife Kay, The Villages, FL, and Danny Daugherty and his wife Linda, Quiet Dell; her daughter, Ruth Jeffries and her husband Harley, Bridgeport; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, and a sister.
Jean worked for the Harrison County Board of Education as a cook for 18 years until her retirement in 2001. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, especially coloring, puzzles and quilting.

At her request, private services will be held for the family, and burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
