Obituary for Nina May Koblinsky-Chiado (Skidmore)

Nina May Koblinsky-Chiado, 90, of Clarksburg, passed away Saturday morning, August 20, 2016, in United Hospital Center. She was born in Galloway on May 15, 1926, a daughter of the late Rev. George Washington “Doc” And Mary Katherine (Lohr) Skidmore.
She is survived by five children, Janet L. Gaston and her husband Thomas, Morganville, Kansas; Debbie Harron, Parkersburg; Patricia DeNoon, Parkersburg; Barbara Koblinsky and her fiancé Richard Hertges, Red House, WV; and Michael Koblinsky and his wife Betty, Maryland; eight grandchildren, Eric Harron and his fiance Brittany; Michael Harron; Shelli Harron; Lisa Perrine and her husband Dave; John W. Dowling and his wife Sheila McDonald; Daniel Gaston and his wife Amy; Thomas Gaston, Jr.; and Nicholas DeNoon; great-grandchildren, Brayden Harron; Andrea Cessna and her husband James; Melissa Ellison and her fiancé Kyle Posey; Lauren Dembeck and her husband Casey Galvin; Danielle Gaston, Colton Gaston; Jessica Gaston; Cindy Sturgill; Tabatha Gaston; Marya Gaston; and Shy Gaston; great-great-grandchildren, Kayden, Payden, Kaity, Kellan, Christian, Adalyn, Paul, Jaden and Emma; her son-in-law, Frederick Harron; and her dear friend and angel, David Shreve; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, John Koblinsky, the father of her children; her son, Johnny “Butchie” Koblinsky; her second husband, Larry Chiado; two brothers, Joseph Skidmore and William Skidmore, Jr., and two sisters, Mary J. Coombs and Della Shanholtzer.
Nina was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was taken suddenly from us and will be greatly missed. She loved Jesus with all her mind, spirit and heart and wanted to share his love with everyone. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. She loved reading and studying her Bible and found great comfort in God’s word. She enjoyed writing poems and telling stories of her childhood growing up in West Virginia.
Proverbs 31:28 - Her children arise up and call her blessed.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 2 – 8 p.m. on Monday, where the Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, with Father Chris Turner presiding. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
