Obituary for Christine "Davis" Michael

Christine Davis Michael, 96, of Clarksburg, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016. She was born May 17, 1920 in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Roy John Davis and Alice Thrash Davis.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph T. Michael in 2003.
Christine is survived by one son, Thomas Michael and his wife Virginia of Lost Creek and one daughter, Sharon Michael and her husband Keith Weigel of Gig Harbor, Washington. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Joseph Clark Michael and his companion Sheena Tascarella, John Davis Michael, Eric Roan Weigel and his wife Ali Armstrong Weigel, Byron Keith Weigel and his companion Tamara Taylor and Kris Michael Weigel and his companion Jennifer Arthur; 6 great-grandchildren, Jada Christine Michael, Quinn Julia Weigel, Isabel Sharon Weigel, Jason Green, Charles Tascarella and Thomas Joseph Michael; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Christine was preceded in death by two sisters, Ada Hudkins and Helen Gumbel.
Christine graduated from R-W High School in 1937 and attended West Virginia University for one year. She worked for the Maritime Commission in Washington, DC during WW II. Christine was a Strawberry Festival princess in 1938. She spent most of her life being a homemaker for her family and greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Friends and family will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Private interment services will be held for the family.
