Obituary for David Allen Hinkle

David Allen Hinkle, 77, of Stevens Run Road passed away Saturday afternoon, January 14, 2017. He was born in Bridgeport on March 23, 1939, a son of the late Lewis Battelle Hinkle and Mary Pauline (Dennison) Hinkle.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Fayella (Batten) Hinkle, whom he married June 11, 1960.
Also surviving are five children, Emily Jo Przybylski and her husband Gilbert of Raleigh, NC; Clark Alan Hinkle and his companion Sidney, Jacksonville, FL; Keith Edward Hinkle and his wife Robin, Bowie, MD; Janet Lee Flowers and her companion Johnny Sprouse of Mount Clare and Darin Paul Hinkle of, Mount Clare; six grandchildren, Brian, Tiffany, Jessie, Melissa, Casey and Joshua.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers Lewis O. Hinkle and Rush Cleavenger.
David was a graduate of R-W High School and attended Potomac State College. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1959 – 1963. He was employed with PP&G from 1963-1967 and then with United Airlines at BWI airport until 1997 with 30 years of service as a ramp serviceman. He loved to hunt, collect coins and he also loved going to church at Bible Baptist Temple.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 4-8pm where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Reverend Chuck Madaus presiding. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Mount Clare, where Military Funeral Honors will be accorded by Harrison County Honor Guard.
