Obituary for Pamela Jean Handschumacher

Pamela Jean Handschumacher, 63, of Bridgeport, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. She was born March 22, 1953 in Marietta, OH a daughter of Beryl Jackson Cole of Athens, OH and the late John Cole.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Terry Lee Handschumacher, whom she married on March 22, 1980.
She is also survived by her son, Jon Handschumacher and his wife Allison of Shinnston and her daughter, Angie Bush and her husband John of Bridgeport; her twin sister, Paula Hackathorn and her husband Ken of Salmon, ID; and her brother Jeff Cole and his wife Lili of Athens, OH; four grandchildren, Landry, Paisley, Ellie Handschumacher and Cam Bush.
Pam was employed as a bank teller for 28 years and most recently worked for Wesbanco on Bridgeport Hill until her retirement in April 14, 2015. She was also a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, listening to music and walking, taking vacations to the beach where she would look for sea shells. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 4-7 pm, where a memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm with Reverend Steve Engle presiding.
