Obituary for Lyle Grant Moore

Lyle Grant Moore, 98 of Boothsville Road, Bridgeport, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 31, 2017, at his residence. He was born in Bridgeport on August 27, 1918, a son of the late Grant and Mamie (Preston) Moore.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence M. (Looman) Moore, in 1987.
He is survived by two daughters, Lyla Bruzda and her husband Joseph; and Pauline Mary Bowman, all of Bridgeport; seven grandchildren, Diana Constable, Michael Whitehair; Jamie List and her husband JR; Mary K. Bowman; Cheryl Thompson; Debra Huey; Kelly Rush; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Dolores Whitehair and her husband Robert; and his son-in-law, Robert Bowman; and two brothers, Kenneth and Paul Moore.
Lyle was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He worked at several area coal mines and had also worked at Bridgeport Cemetery. He enjoyed fishing and tinkering around the house.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Friday, February 3, 2017, from 10 – 12 Noon, where services will be held at 12 Noon with Reverend Tim Bolyard presiding. Interment will follow in Middleville Cemetery, where Military Funeral Honors will be provided by the Harrison County Honor Guard.
