Jean Hartley, 67, of West Union and formerly of Bridgeport, passed away Friday afternoon, March 31, 2017, in Allegheny General Hospital. She was born in Grafton on September 18, 1949, the only child of the late Dennis M. and Flossie A. (Sigley) Post.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Sam Hartley, whom she married January 19, 1968.
Also surviving are five children, Tonya Abraham and her husband Brian, Grafton; Ben Hartley and his wife Lisa, Columbia Falls, Montana; Tabitha Paugh and her husband Jamie, West Union; Tasha Sinclair and her husband Scott, Fairmont; and Tessa Hartley, West Union; six grandchildren, Trenton, Cody and Connor Abraham; Stormee, Alexxus, and Tenley Paugh; and three step-grandchildren, Sarah, Michael, and Ruth Bell.
Jean was very family-oriented and was a child of God who instilled Christian values on her family.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 2 – 7 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017, where services will be held at 7 p.m. with Pastor Charles Madaus and Pastor Downing Gregory presiding. In following her wishes, Jean will be cremated after the services.
