Obituary for Mary Ida Stump (Bruno)

Mary Ida Stump, 89 of Clarksburg WV, formerly of St Albans passed away Sunday September 24, 2017 at Sundale Nursing Home in Morgantown. She was born November 30, 1927 in Weirton WV, the daughter of the late Anthony Bruno and Anna Sousa Bruno.

Mrs. Stump was a 1946 graduate of Weir High School. She was a faithful wife for 61 years and raised 4 wonderful children.

Mary was a fabulous cook known for her pumpkin pie, dozens of varieties of cookies and lasagna. She was a loyal friend to everyone she met.

She was a faithful member for many years of St Francis Catholic Church in St Albans and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarksburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Ralph Stump, whom she married August 18, 1951.

She is survived by four children, Darwin Stump and wife Kathy of Highlands Ranch, CO; Darlene Beres and husband Joseph of Morgantown; Ralph Stump, Jr and wife Kristina of Powhatan, VA; and Richard Stump and wife Francis of Bridgeport and her beloved grandchildren, Kathryn Francis, Jessica Beres, Anthony Beres, AnnaMari Stump, Andi Stump, Sydney Stump, Devon Stump and Tristan Stump and her great grandson Michael Jack Francis. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Kenneth Bruno and a beloved aunt, Sylvia Krygel.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home 607 S. Virginia Ave, Bridgeport WV 26330 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Tuesday September 26th, 2017 with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 126 East Pike Street, Clarksburg at 10 am Wednesday September 27th, 2017 with Father Pat Wash as Celebrant. Interment will follow in West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, WV.
