Clayton Frank  Seal
Clayton F. Seal, 86, of Seal Run Road, Salem, passed away Tuesday evening, October 31, 2017, in the WV Veterans Nursing Facility. He was born on Grass Run, Salem, on July 19, 1931, a son of the late William Clayton and Leo Gertrude (Gerwig) Seal.

On December 20, 1952, he married Betty Jo (Smith) Seal, who preceded him in death on April 10, 2002.

He is survived by a brother, Orvel Bradford Seal and his wife Sally, Butler, PA; a brother-in-law, Aubrey Rogers, Marshville; a sister-in-law, Karen Shepherd of West Union; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John D. Seal; and two sisters, Jane Modispaugh and Oreaka Rogers.

Clayton was a graduate of Bristol High School, Class of 1949, and then served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was very proud of his military service and honored the flag by always displaying it on patriotic holidays. He worked at West Fork Motors in the parts department for 10 years, retiring in 1996. He was Baptist.

He enjoyed working on his farm and going to the mountains to his cabin in Bemis, where he loved hunting bear and deer and trout fishing.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017. Interment will follow in Marshville Baptist Church Cemetery. Military Funeral Honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and WV Army National Guard Honor Guard.
