Obituary for Sheila Marie Poth (McGinnis)

Sheila M. Poth, 72, of Bridgeport, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 at United Hospital Center. She was born on August 10, 1945 in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Edward McGinnis and Margaret Rollins Blankenship.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, James Robert Poth who passed away in 1996.
She is survived by her companion Bob Freshour of Bridgeport; her son, Jason Poth and Eva of Bridgeport; a daughter-in-law, Donna Poth; four grandchildren, Jordan Poth and Brittany Poth-Lesmann and her husband Patrick of Stonewood, and Hanna and Alexa Lipscomb of Bridgeport; two great grandchildren, Gabe and Poppy Lesmann of Stonewood; and one brother, Dusty McGinnis of Mount Clare.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons Christopher and Tom Poth; and one brother Tim McGinnis.
Sheila was a 1963 graduate of RW High School and then went to United Technical Center where she received her LPN License. She worked as an LPN for 30 years at United Hospital Center until her retirement in 2011. She enjoyed gardening, going to the beach, baby sitting and going for drives. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David E. Hess for his great care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Harrison County Humane Society, PO Box 4397, Clarksburg, WV 26302.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 2-8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Bill Coffindaffer presiding. Interment will be in Bridgeport Cemetery.
