Obituary for Mason Edwin Critchfield
Mason E. Critchfield, 75, of Laurel Lick Road, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 in Jane lew. He was born on October 9, 1942 in Green Valley, a son of the late Porter Critchfield and Virgie Reed Critchfield.
He is survived by two sons, Mike Critchfield of Rosemont and Mark Critchfield of Jane Lew; one daughter, Tina Freda of Weston; five grandsons, Daniel Critchfield, Mark Critchfield, Chris Nicholas, Dylan Tallarito and Korbyn Tallarito; and one granddaughter, Adrayn Freda; and two great grandchildren, Kaylee and Paisley Critchfield; one brother Max Critchfield of VA and one sister, Donna Scott of California; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene Critchfield and Jennings Critchfield and Ted Critchfield; and one sister, Dottie Burgess.
Mason was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and was a Heavy Equipment Operator in the coal industry. He enjoyed horse trading, race cars, hunting and fox chasing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 10-1 pm, where funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery, Brushy Fork
