Obituary for Gary Edwin Butcher

Gary Edwin Butcher, 53, of Lumberport passed away on Sunday evening, January 28, 2018 in Clarksburg surrounded by his family. He was born on April 16, 1964 in Clarksburg, a son of Francis Edwin Butcher and Margaret Ward Butcher Buck.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Stark.
He is survived by one brother, Steve Butcher and his wife Anna of Jane Lew, and a sister, Debbie Westfall and her husband Rodney of Lost Creek; his mother-in-law Vivian Stark; nieces and nephews, Scotty and Nancy Turner of Mount Clare, Tiffany and Jake Shugars of Clarksburg, Jonathon and Samantha Turner of Lost Creek, Christopher and Tamara Butcher of Westover, Anthony Butcher of Jane Lew, Savana Butcher of Jane Lew and Michaela Stark of Lumberport; great nieces and nephews, John Logan Turner, Alanna Turner, Bowen Turner and Liliana Butcher.
Gary was employed as an air conditioning tech with Climatrol and also Air Systems. He was a loving and compassionate man who enjoyed helping others in their time of need. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, carpentry and working on his farm.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 4-8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
