Obituary for Sharon Lee Van Devender

Sharon Lee Van Devender, 76, of Bridgeport passed away at her home on Friday, June 1, 2018. She was born on October 6, 1941, in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Willard Earl Elliott and Doris Neff Elliott.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Phillip Van Devender who passed away on August 15, 2009.
She is survived by her three daughters, Debbie Wagner and her husband Dave of Bridgeport, Betsy Headley and her husband Darrell of Mount Morris, PA and Beverly Van Devender of Citra, FL; ten grandchildren, Jordon Spanovich and her husband Sam, Jenny Headley, Jeff Headley, Jacob Headley, Phillip Baer, Conner Foster, Trace Wagner, Taylor Wagner, Nina Wagner and Teague Wagner; and one brother Marty Elliott and his wife Rusty.
In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by her son, Phillip Van Devender, Jr.
Sharon was a graduate of WI High School Class of 1960, and graduated from Fairmont State in 1992 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. She started working at Department of Human Services in 1986 and retired as a Social Worker with over 15 years of service. She loved shopping, reading, and playing bingo. The center of her life revolved around her grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Zach’s Run Road, Quiet Dell, on Friday, June 8, 2018, at 10 a.m. with Dr. Ken Ramsey presiding.
