Obituary for Charles David McDaniel

Charles David McDaniel, 59, of Hepzibah, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center following an extended illness of brain cancer. He was born on May 11, 1959 in Clarksburg, a son of Charles Wayne McDaniel and Mildred McGlothlin McDaniel of Hepzibah.
In addition to his parents he is survived by one son, Charles Ryan McDaniel of Hepzibah; one sister, Donna Moore and her husband Jimmie of Monongah; two nephews, Matthew Scott Moore and his wife Brittany, Michael Moore and his wife Lisa of Mannington and one niece Aimee Upton of Monongah; great nieces and nephews, Tynlee Moore, Lochlan Moore, Trenton Moore, Colten Moore, Justin Upton, Brandon Upton and Trevor Upton.
David was a 1977 graduate of WI High School and proudly served in the United States Army as a paratropper with the 82nd Airborn in Fort Bragg, NC. He was employed as a store manager for Fisher Federated Auto Parts for 32 years until his retirement in January of this year. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and enjoyed the friendships he made over the years doing those activities. He was also a NASCAR fan and of WVU Athletics, especially football and basketball as well as a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Wednesday, June20, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 10:00 am with reverend Thomas P. Horne presiding. Interment will be in West Virginia National Cemetery with Military Honors by the Harrison County Honor Guard.
