Condolence From: Michael Reese - First Sergeant Retired
Condolence: Having just learned of Troy's death, I am so sorry for not being able to attending his service and express my gratitude for having known and shared time with him on this earth. Troy was the epitome of what is often referred to as a "Soldiers Soldier". I always had trouble performing evaluations of Troy, first as a platoon sergeant and again as a first sergeant. There are only so many words that you can find to express your trust, confidence, pride and reverence for a man of Troy's caliber. I never had a more reliable, self confident and honorable soldier under my supervision. One of the first memories to come to mind when I learned of his passing was of his fascination with John Wayne movies. I am a better person for having known Troy and I know that his death has left a tremendous void in his family, community, the WV National Guard and the many, many other lives that he has had an impact on. Troy is dearly missed!

Condolence: I'm saddened to hear of Troy's passing. He was a great Soldier and friend. If I needed anything done on Active Duty - Troy was there to help out. He will be missed, but always in my thoughts. May God wrap HIS Arms around the family for strength. May HE bring the family together and help them get through their pain of this loss. My thoughts and prayer to all family members

Condolence: OMG - I cannot believed this happened. I am shocked to hear this. He was a super soldier among soldiers. I will miss seeing him when North Dakota comes to train soldiers alongside the West Virginia Instructors. My condolences to his family and his friends. RIP my friend.

Condolence: I want to send my sincere condolences to Troy's family and friends. Some of my earliest memories after we moved to West Virginia are of Troy and his family visiting on Sunday afternoons and when we worked together on my Grandad's farm. I'll miss him.

Condolence From: Albert Mazza
Condolence: My thoughts and prayers go out to your family, I was shocked and saddened when I was given the news of Troys passing. I have great memories of Troy from the first day he attended NDHS wearing his boots and huge belt buckle, to our last day when Troy came riding on his horse. Troy was a friend to alll he met and a kind and giving man. He will be truly missed by all that had the pleasure of meeting and knowing him. “ In a world that can seem so dark at times, God gives you a candle and a match and says, “ You are the light of the world”. May God comfort you in this difficult time in your life.
