Condolence From: Michael Reese - First Sergeant Retired
Condolence: Having just learned of Troy's death, I am so sorry for not being able to attending his service and express my gratitude for having known and shared time with him on this earth. Troy was the epitome of what is often referred to as a "Soldiers Soldier". I always had trouble performing evaluations of Troy, first as a platoon sergeant and again as a first sergeant. There are only so many words that you can find to express your trust, confidence, pride and reverence for a man of Troy's caliber. I never had a more reliable, self confident and honorable soldier under my supervision. One of the first memories to come to mind when I learned of his passing was of his fascination with John Wayne movies. I am a better person for having known Troy and I know that his death has left a tremendous void in his family, community, the WV National Guard and the many, many other lives that he has had an impact on. Troy is dearly missed!

Condolence: My thoughts and prayers go out to your family, I was shocked and saddened when I was given the news of Troys passing. I have great memories of Troy from the first day he attended NDHS wearing his boots and huge belt buckle, to our last day when Troy came riding on his horse. Troy was a friend to alll he met and a kind and giving man. He will be truly missed by all that had the pleasure of meeting and knowing him. “ In a world that can seem so dark at times, God gives you a candle and a match and says, “ You are the light of the world”. May God comfort you in this difficult time in your life.

Condolence: Troy was one of the kindest, most generous, and most pleasant person you'd ever want to meet. We make assumptions that the person living the fullest and healthiest life will outlive his contemporaries. I am truly saddened by his passing, but I will always have fond memories of our high school days.
