Obituary for William T. "Cork" Blackwell

William T. “Cork” Blackwell, 70, of Bridgeport, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his residence. He was born on June 17, 1948 in Clarksburg, a son of the late William “Sam” Blackwell and Margaret (Pittman) Blackwell.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Karen M. Paugh Blackwell whom he married on February 1, 1974.
He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Jo Blackwell of Alexandria, VA, his aunt, Mary Ellen Mieras, Loxahatchee, FL, niece and nephew, Becky and Forrest Kozul and their son Austin of Fairmont; along with several cousins complete his family.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother Kelly L. “Ollie” Blackwell.
Cork was a lifetime resident of Bridgeport, graduating Bridgeport High School class of 1966. He truly enjoyed attending class reunions. Cork was a maintenance Mechanic and he was retired from the Harrison County Power Station. His favorite place on earth was his Ritchie County Farm. He also enjoyed hunting and guns as well as NASCAR.
His wishes for cremation and no services are being honored under the care of Burnside Funeral Home.
