Obituary for Catherine Marie Zinn

Catherine Marie Zinn Send Condolences to the Zinn Family Catherine Marie Zinn, 90, formerly of N. 15th St., Clarksburg, passed away peacefully late Tuesday evening, April 10, 2007 at Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 15, 1916 in Skiles, Pocohantas County, WV, a daughter of the late Peter Reischel and Cora Mae Gibson Reider. Catherine is survived by two grandchildren, Denise Palmer and her fiancé Allen Ferree, and Lawrence E. “Larry” Norman and his wife Missy, all of Clarksburg; and three great-grandchildren, Whitney Lynn Melear Bombardiere and her husband Chad, Lacey Jo Palmer and Cassandra Rose Norman, all of Clarksburg. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her only daughter, Nina Rose Norman on February 23, 1988; two brothers, Paul Reider and William Reider; one sister, Lorena Hickman; and her former husband, Lawrence E. Zinn. Mrs. Zinn was a member of the North View United Methodist Church, the North View United Methodist Women and was active at the Harrison County Senior Citizens Center. She retired as a clerk with more than 15 years of service at Clarice’s Children’s Shop and the Kiddie Shop in Clarksburg. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bridge, marbles, and chicken scratch dominoes with her friends. Catherine was a very caring and giving person who always tried to tend to the needs of others. She was extremely devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home. 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from 2:00– 8:00 PM today, Thursday, April 12, 2007. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday in the funeral home with Reverend Kenny Kendall presiding. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park, Mt. Clare, where she will be laid to rest beside her daughter.
