Obituary for Donald Paul ""Donnie"" Norman

Donald Paul “Donnie” Norman, 79, of Adamston passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in Clarksburg. He was born July 5, 1936 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Thurman Esley Norman and Anna Sofrona Longanetta Norman.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nina Rose Norman who passed away in 1988.
He is survived by his daughter, Denise D. Palmer and her fiancée Allen Ferree of Clarksburg; his son Lawrence E. Norman ; three granddaughters, Whitney Lynn Policano, Lacey Jo Palmer and Cassandra Rose Norman; two great grandsons who were the light of his life Dominick W. Bombardiere and Matteo E. Bombardiere all of Clarksburg; eight nephews and three nieces. He was the last surviving member of his family.
In addition to his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Thurman E. Norman, Jr., Robert L. Norman, Sr., Carl E. Norman; two sisters, Mary Catherine Brown and Georgie H. McClung.
Mr. Norman was a graduate of Victory High School and was a retired crane operator for the Division of Highways for 26 years until his retirement in 2000. He was considered the unofficial “Mayor of Adamston” and he was a lifelong resident who had a wave from his porch for every horn or greeting. He was an extreme fan of the Miami Dolphins for over 40 years, even visiting the training camp in FL. He was also a NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt and a West Virginia University football fan.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 2-6 pm where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm with Reverend Kenny Kendall presiding. A private interment will be held in Norman Cemetery at a later date.
