Obituary for Lois Jean Neff (Drumpus)

Lois Jean Drumpus Neff, 81, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in her sleep on April 23rd in Anaheim, California after attending the wedding of her granddaughter. She is survived by her children, Tim Neff (Cindy), Jodi Wiles (Rick), and grandchildren: Hayley Grigg (Eric), Logan Neff (Elise), Aubrey Neff, Rachel Molina (Jaime), Dylan Wiles. Also, foster daughter Shannon Pinar and her daughters Hannah and Holly Pinar. Extended family includes sisters Carole Flowers (Bill) and Judith Bennett of Clarksburg, WV, Myra Sienkiewicz (Mike) of Charles Town, WV, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Andy and Edna Drumpus, her husband, Tom Neff, brother-in-law Jack Bennett, niece Melanie Flowers Bean, nephew-in-law John (Kelly) Marple and great nephew Joshua Marple.
Jean was born on July 19, 1934 in Reynoldsville, West Virginia. She was a 1952 graduate of Victory High School where she participated in theater, choir and band as a majorette and clarinet player. In 1952, she received the honor of being selected Queen of the Band Festival. Jean was an exceptional singer, performing as a soloist with Bill Brookover's Orchestra and Sam Devono's Variety Show, as well as the Reynoldsville Christian Church.
Jean began working in retail at age 16, which she continued until motherhood. Later in life she returned to work in the banking industry, which she greatly enjoyed for 25 years. Jean always had a deep Christian faith which led her to meet her husband, Tom, who served as a minister for the Christian Churches and Churches of Christ. Together, they ministered for 50 years in West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Colorado and California, including the West Union, Reynoldsville and Center Point Christian Churches in the Clarksburg area. Jean will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 6-8 pm and again on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 10-12 pm, where funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Quiet Dell.
