Obituary for Lillian May "Stout" Newlon

Lillian May Newlon, 95, of Simpson, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at her home. She was born in Flemington on July 14, 1921, a daughter of the late Lloyd A. and Kate (Lewis) Stout.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Newlon on August 27, 1996.
She is survived by her daughter, Myrtle Reed and her husband Earl of Moatsville, WV; two sons, Lloyd B. Newlon and his wife Jackie of Tacy, WV; and Cam Newlon of Simpson, WV; a special niece, Dolories Gray of Grafton; and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric B. Newlon; three brothers, Lewis M. Stout; Lloyd A. Stout and his wife Ruth; and John C. Stout and his wife Juanita.
Lillian was a graduate of Flemington High School. She worked at Westinghouse and Reppert Coal Company for a short time. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, Simpson, and served as church treasurer for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was an avid Mountaineer fan. She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to give special thanks to two caregivers, Patty Blake and Rose Bolyard.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 2:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Services will be held at Union Baptist Church, Simpson, at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 29, 2016, with Reverend Jerome Lewis presiding. Mrs. Newlon will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Simpson Cemetery.
