Obituary for Lois M. Alexander (True)

Lois M. Alexander, 76, of Worthington Drive, Bridgeport, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon, January 3, 2017, in the United Hospital Center. She was born August 11, 1940, in Century, WV a daughter of the late Amelia V. Maragni and William Page True.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Alexander, on February 4, 2009. They were married on September 6, 1958, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Century, WV.

She is survived by four daughters, Kimberly Lynne Alexander-Kinkelaar; Retired United States Air Force Veteran Karen Leslie Alexander; and Kathryn Lea Alexander, all of Bridgeport; and Katrina Alexander Llaneza and her husband Mark, The Woodlands, TX; three granddaughters, Marissa Dawn Kinkelaar, Megan Renee’ Kinkelaar- Beam, DDS. and Mary Elizabeth Kinkelaar; four grandsons, John Korey Lawson and Brandon Page Lawson, both of Bridgeport and Parker John Llaneza and Luke Alexander Llaneza both of TX; and one great granddaughter, Emelia Ray Lawson of Morgantown; her sister, Joan Carol Smith and her husband Harold of Parma Heights, OH; and her brother William Page True, Jr. and his wife Lynda of Colonial Heights, VA; and two very special nieces, Traci Streets-Erickson and Amy Caroline Smith; along with many other nieces and nephews and her companion, Harold Dean Price of GA.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Ann True and Nancy Gail True Streets.
Lois was a graduate of Philippi High School, where she was involved in the High School marching band. She took pride in playing many instruments including the trombone and the french horn. She was a very strong and passionate lady who lived her life her own way. All the things she did, she did with her heart. She enjoyed singing and dancing, and planting beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed cooking, especially Italian dishes. She was a beautiful woman inside and out who loved all things with panache.


Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 4-8 pm. Catholic Burial Rites will be held on Saturday January 7, 2016 at 11:00 am with Father Casey Mahone presiding. Interment will be in Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport.
