Obituary for Dorsey W. Cole

Dorsey W. Cole, 82, of Anmoore, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 11, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Clarksburg on January 10, 1935, a son of the late Jessie Lee and Floda Dale (Kelly) Cole.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Juanita P. Cole, on March 9, 2008.

He is survived by his children, Mary Roth and her husband David, Anmoore; Eddie Farnsworth, Clarksburg; Brenda Parsons and her husband James, Clarksburg; Linda Stalnaker and her husband Tim, Clarksburg; Danny Farnsworth and his wife Debra, Quiet Dell; and Dorsey (Stretch) Farnsworth and his wife Estella, Stonewood; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. A brother, Daniel R. Cole, Clarksburg; two sisters, Barbara Jean Cole, Ohio; and Wilma May Cole, Salem; his lady friend Sue Parent; and many nieces and nephews complete his family.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Cole and Lilma Faye Cole; and three brothers, Denver Cole, James “Bernie” Cole and Roger L. Cole; a daughter-in-law, Donna Farnsworth.

Dorsey retired from Hartland Building Supply as a foreman with over 38 years of service, and he also was self-employed as a tree trimmer. He enjoyed fishing and loved to travel.

Friends may call at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Tuesday from 2 - 8 pm, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, with Reverend Patty Post presiding. Interment will follow in Stonewall Park Cemetery.
