Obituary for Barbara Jo Dotson (Lane)

Barbara Jo (Lane) Dotson, 76, of Lost Creek, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 13, 2017, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Clarksburg on July 20, 1940, a daughter of the late Harley F. and Bertha M. (Wilson) Lane.
On February 23, 1957, she was married to Richard F. Dotson, who preceded her in death on January 21, 1980.
She is survived by four children, Richard F. Dotson Jr. and wife Kathy of Newburg; Brenda P. (Dotson) Fortier and husband Steven of Winslow, Maine; John D. Dotson and his wife Dianne of New Milton; and Pamela (Dotson) Langer and husband Timothy of West Milford; grandchildren, Philip N. Dotson and wife Sally, David D. Davis and wife Cora, Barbara J. Cain and husband Raymond, Rolando D. Tantoco and wife Jennifer, Jasmine D. Tantoco, Angelina P. Tantoco and fiancé Andre, Vitaliano J. Tantoco and fiancée Molly, Maritess R. Tantoco and fiancé Rin, John D. Dotson II and wife Rebecca, Christina D. (Dotson) Barker and husband James Robert, Steven J. Dotson and wife Jessica, Eric R. Langer and wife Tomeeka, Kyle A. Langer and wife Marleena, Ethan J. Langer; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by one sister, Betty Barberio of Clarksburg, one brother, Harley F. “Sonny” Lane of Laurel Park; one sister-in-law, Ethel Lane of Clarksburg; one brother-in-law, John Wilson of Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are her “adopted sons,” Lester Losh and wife Mary, Bobby Losh and wife Cindy and Ricky Losh.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Sara (Lane) Wilson; one brother, Charles “Chuck” Lane; one brother-in-law, Dominick Barberio; one sister-in-law, Kathy Lane; three grandchildren, twins Mary Jo and Mary Ann Dotson and Reggie Tantoco; and longtime companion Carroll Losh and his daughter Carla.
Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and caring for family and friends. She also enjoyed volunteering at Camp Nabe, a bereavement camp for children. She loved to travel and was an avid RV-er. Barbara loved life and people, and she enjoyed life to the fullest.
A devout Christian, Barbara was a member of Tenmile Church of Christ in Bristol and attended Mount Clare Community Church in Mount Clare.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mount Clare Community Church or Tenmile Church of Christ.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10 – 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, with Reverend Leonard Madia officiating. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
