Obituary for Herbert Morgan ""Pat"" Talkington

Herbert M. “Pat” Talkington, 84, of Clarksburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was born on March, 17, 1933 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Lilburn Otis Talkington and Marguerite Faye Montgomery Talkington.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Marilyn June Criss Talkington and his second wife Dorothy Jean Hawkins Talkington.
He is survived by five children, Deborah Davisson and her husband Hal of Bristol, Rebecca Shingleton and her husband Jim of Clarksburg, Marilyn Cottrill and her husband John of Clarksburg, Robert Talkington and his wife Chastity of Clarksburg and Daniel Talkington of Clarksburg; grandchildren, Brian Prieto of Fairmont, Patrick Shingleton of Clarksburg, Felicity Friend of Salem, Robert Talkington, II of Clarksburg and Gabriel Talkington of Clarksburg; great grandchildren, Anthony Prieto, Carina Prieto and Faith Friend; and one brother James C. Talkington of TN.
In addition to his parents and spouses, he was also preceded in death by two children, Carl Morgan Talkington and Nancy Elizabeth Talkington.
Pat was a 1951 graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School and also attended WVU majoring in Engineering and he was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed as a Security Officer at the VA Medical Center for 35 years until his retirement in July of 1990. In addition, he was also worked for the City of Anmoore as Chief of Police. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, white water rafting and he was an avid WVU Mountaineers fan.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Saturday, December 23, 2017 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, where services will be held at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Quiet Dell.
