Obituary for Carolyn Sue Holbert (Caldwell)

Carolyn Sue Caldwell Holbert, 72, of Erie Community, Clarksburg, went Home to be with her Lord on Friday evening, December 29, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Clarksburg on December 17, 1945, a daughter of the late Julius L. and Eleanor V. Fleming Caldwell.
She is survived by her loving husband, James P. “Jim” Holbert, whom she married April 3, 1965.
Also surviving are three children, James “Pat” Holbert, II, and his companion Rebecca Morlock of Meadowbrook, Russell T. “Rusty” Holbert of Bridgeport, and Kelli Dawn Clark and her husband Michael of Hepzibah; grandchildren, Justin Holbert, Ryan Holbert, Tanner Holbert, McKinley Clark, Brookelyn Clark, Manning Clark and Jason Swiger; great-grandchildren, Jonah Case Riggs, Brooklynn Marie Holbert, Emma Kate Holbert, and CJ Holbert; her sister, Eilene Harris of Erie, her aunt Rosalee Brown, Grantsville, her uncle, Fred Bailey, Clarksburg, a brother-in-law, David Stull, Grantsville, and her sisters-in-law, Rosie Lewis of Maryland and Catherine Caldwell of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Doris Ann Plum, Frances Haddox and her husband Robert, and Dora Mae Stull; two brothers, Johnny Lynn Caldwell and Robert Caldwell; and a brother-in-law, Russell Harris; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Grace Pearl Holbert and Smith Franklin Holbert.
Carolyn was a faithful member of Jewel City Church and she was employed by WesBanco, retiring in 2005 with over 20 years of service, and she then worked at Blue Dot Energy Services and enjoyed the many friendships she had made. Carolyn was known for her infectious smile, strong faith and love for Jesus. She loved her family more than anything. She was also an avid WVU football and basketball fan. She cherished her friendships she had made throughout this journey and was thankful for all the texts, cards, phone calls and support while battling her illness.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carolyn’s memory are asked to be made to Jewel City Church, 511 Jewel City Blvd, Meadowbrook, WV 26404.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 2 – 8 p.m. on Monday, January 1, 2018, where services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, with Pastor Robert Shingleton presiding.
