The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Mason Critchfield can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Hair raising experince!!! First time meeting?

I had the pleasure of meeting Mason, at the (TAYLOR COUNTY FAIR GROUNDS). Today I still think about how lucky I am to have met a man's man. The "Critchfield boys" herd alot of stories but never really met any them. Being a young lad of just 16 got to take my pony too the fair! Junior Heater talked my parents into letting me take my pony, spend the weekend there.Had the best time of my life. Spent the time out of a cattle truck. That was the life, always wanted to be a cowboy. We all gathered in the back of that old truck, sitting around telling stories. The life, until the moment that this giant of a man walked in. To a kid sitting there not thinking of much but good times. I looked up and remember him saying, sombody get up I want to sit down. Well nobody made a move.I thought I was ok were I was sitting, wrong, this giant of a man reached down with that bear paw of a hand, picked me up in a sitting position by the hair on my head and ever so gently setting me on the outside. Said come back, when you get a little older. It was awsom, memories that turned into a life time of good frindship. Alot of good years, all those horse reunions, the finest family I personally have ever met. MASON, may (GOD) bless you for an experience of a life time!!! You were a great friend to all that have been so lucky to have met you.
