Selby Harris  Myers
Selby H. Myers, 91, of Anmoore, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Jarvisville on June 15, 1926, a son of the late Ralph and Stella Stutler Myers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Galan Myers.
Selby and Mary never had any children of their own but he loved his nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was the last surviving member of eight siblings, having been preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred “Cookie” Brownlow and Jean Hostutler; and five brothers, Robert Myers, Vinton Myers, Tine Myers, Delmer Myers, and Hayward Myers.
Mr. Myers was a member of the Armed Forces of the United States of America, serving in Korea and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars and the United Nations Service Medal. He was a wheelsman on the Great Lakes and an electrician.
Selby was a prayer warrior and was very active in his church, Bethel Temple, as long as he was able. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A special thanks to Joe and Janet Galan and sons, Joe Mike, Brad, and especially Mark, and Sissy Hebb who looked after him in his final years.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Saturday, January 27, 2018, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., where services will be held at 1 p.m. with his niece, Reverend Patty “Sissy” Hebb presiding. Interment will follow in Stonewall Park Cemetery, where Military Funeral Honors will be accorded by the WV Army National Guard Honor Guard, Camp Dawson, WV, and the Harrison County Honor Guard.
