Martha Lou  Gawthrop (Kyle)
Martha Lou Gawthrop, 88, of Clarksburg, went to her Eternal Home Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at her residence. She was born at home in Harrison County on February 4, 1930, a daughter of the late William Roy and Ava Myrl Kyle.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Denzel Junior Sayres whom she married in 1952; and Edward (Bud) Lake Gawthrop whom she married in 1975.
She is survived by her son, Richard Roy Sayres, Clarksburg; a nephew, several cousins, and many friends.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a half-brother, Robert Loyd Robey.
Martha graduated from Victory High School in 1948 and worked several jobs before and after graduation. Her longest job lasted from 1968 to 1987; this includes time she was a student and later instructor at the Clarksburg Beauty Academy before opening her own beauty shop, Lou’s Beauty Shop in Adamston and on Junkins Avenue.
Martha loved God and loved helping people.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 – 8 p.m. Friday, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018, with Reverend Brian Plum presiding. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
