Cleo Margaret Cox, 71, of Flemington, passed away Thursday August 30, 2018 in Hudson Florida. She was born in Clarksburg WV July 21, 1947. She was adopted by loving parents Paul Denzel and Maude Marie Pitts.

Cleo slept beside her mother Marie as she breathed her last when Cleo was six years old. Heart broken and needing help to care for Cleo and her adopted sister, Paul married Patricia Lucille when Cleo was eight.

In 1964 Cleo married the love of her life Raymond Eugene Cox(deceased). She is also preceded in death by her youngest son Randolph Cox, an infant daughter, two nephews, Kevin Stamper and Matthew Crimm, as well as blood parents and siblings.

Surviving are four sons, Raymond Eugene Cox II Flemington , Rodney Scott Cox Clarksburg, Richard Paul Cox Bridgeport, and Robert Michael Cox Hudson Florida; eleven grandchildren Alexis, Milia, Bethany, Raymond III, Ashley, Paul, Elizabeth, Emily, Luke, Benjamin and Brianna; seven great-grandchildren Christopher, Kinsey, Gideon, Kyle, Kyrra, Hadley, Kirin; a sister Gladys Stamper Yadkinville, NC two nephews Keith Stamper and Kelly Stamper one niece Michelle Stamper spouses of immediate family and much extended family complete her family.

Cleo was an artist at heart she crafted beauty in ceramics, silk flowers, and in every life she touched. She was a faithful devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother a woman who spoke her mind. A lady who loved intensely and immensely. If harsh words were received, they were meant for your betterment because she cared. In her last hours her sons visited with her as well as her Sister-In-Law Janet K Crimm and family. She will be greatly missed. She has deeply missed her husband and son. Glory to God is given for his mercy in Cleo’s promotion to Heaven and her reunion with missed loved ones.

Family will receive friends at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 4 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, where services will be held at 12 noon on Friday September 7, 2018, with Rev. Thomas P. Horne presiding. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Anmoore.
